Press Release
Today, the Center for Talented Minds (CTM) announced the Advanced Placement® (AP®) participation and performance results for CTM students taking AP courses in the 2024-25 school year. AP brings relevant and engaging college-level work to high school students from all backgrounds, helping them earn college credit or placement and stand out in admissions. A total of 226 students took 259 AP Exams with CTM in 2025. CTM accounts for 2.6% of all AP Exams taken in Europe.
Students preparing with CTM Online courses guided by CTM instructors averaged 3.87 on the AP Exam, compared to the world average of 2.89; 225 AP Exams received a score of 3 and better and 165 (64%) received the highest scores of 4 and 5. The College Board AP Award received 26 students and a few top students completed the AP Capstone Diploma.
A unique feature of the CTM program is the opportunity for public school students to receive international education. AP Exams are now officially recognized in Czech maturita / high school graduation. Because of CTM’s effective advocacy, more Czech universities are taking AP Exam results into account in admissions decisions and providing credit for successful AP Exam performance.
About 15% CTM AP students go on to study at leading universities around the world. Among the CTM superstars of last school year are Matyas, who received the perfect score “5” in AP Computer Science (a perfect 100% score with 35 other students from around the world), continues at Stanford University, and is already a recognized AI expert; Tomas, a young autistic scientist, who conquered his handicap, won the prestigious 2025 Global Earth Prize for developing an ingenious water purification system and now studies at Imperial College London; Leonard, a stellar AP student, was admitted in early decision to Harvard University for his research on autism.
CTM and College Board will host an AP Symposium in Prague in 2026 to raise awareness of the benefits of the AP Program and give more public school students the opportunity to receive international education through AP.
Mr. Paul Sanders, Executive Director, International: “College Board is thankful for CTM’s efforts to gain recognition of AP among Czech schools and authorities that now enables public school students to use AP Exam results to meet high school graduation requirements.”
Ms. Jeanne Bočková, CTM Director: “About 3,000 students have successfully completed AP Exams over the CTM 15-year history. CTM supports students primarily from public schools, giving them an opportunity to attain an international level of education. Assisted by CTM, several Czech schools have opened their curriculum for the AP, opening an international dimension to the Czech educational system. At CTM we are proud of these accomplishments.”
