Equipment Needed for the AP Chemistry Course (provided by the student, costs in average: 1200 to 1500 CZK)
As part of the AP Chemistry course, students will complete 15 laboratory assignments. These are designed to provide practical experience with chemistry and to complement the theoretical part of the course.
The 15 laboratory assignments are divided into three categories:
- 5 virtual laboratories – completed online; no additional equipment is required.
- 1 laboratory recommended for a school laboratory – this experiment is best performed using standard school laboratory equipment.
- 9 home-based experiments – these experiments can be safely performed at home, using mainly common kitchen equipment and easily accessible materials.
To successfully complete the home-based laboratory assignments, you will need to purchase or have access to a few additional items. You do not need to set up a laboratory at home. Most of the required equipment is inexpensive and can be reused for several experiments.
A complete list of the required equipment and materials is provided below.
